Contempt of Court

Contempt of court proceedings arise where a person served with a court order is in breach of specific requirements of the order. A finding of contempt of court can result in penalties ranging from fines to jail sentences. Our lawyers have extensive experience handling every aspect of pursuing or defending contempt of court proceedings. In 2015, we argued one of the leading cases on contempt of court before the Supreme Court of Canada (Carey v. Laiken, 2015 SCC 17).
